Dan. Functional form for home working

The challenge

Dan works full-time from home, so he’s at his desk for at least 40 hours per week. He bought his previous desk and chair based on form over function. After a few years, he realised this was doing his back no favours, so he decided the time was right to invest in proper equipment.

The solution

The Lavoro Advance is a motorised sit/stand desk with preset positions, making it easy for Dan to switch between sitting and standing. Paired with a compact, highly adjustable Hag Capisco chair, it can be moved aside when needed or raised for a comfortable perch during short breaks.

As a self-confessed cable-phobe, Dan’s desk was specified with a full-length metal under-tray. This was deep enough to neatly house his cables, power supplies, adaptors, a multi-gang plug and docking station, leaving just the laptop and power cables in a cable spine so the desk can move freely up and down. He also needed a chair suitable for playing guitar, so we sourced one with small armrests that stay out of the way – something his previous chair and many others he’d tried couldn’t offer.
